Gibson named Stuart Cameron Margaret McCleod Memorial Scholar

Ashley Gibson, President of the SIUC Accounting Society student chapter, is building on an already impressive streak of accomplishments by the Society, which was recently honored with the Outstanding Student Chapter and Gold Status designations by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). Gibson just received word that she will be the recipient of the Stuart Cameron Margaret McCleod Memorial Scholarship, worth $5000.
As part of being a scholarship recipient, the Stuart Cameron McCleod Society (SCMS) has offered Gibson an all expenses paid trip to Denver, Colorado, to attend the IMA Annual Conference and Exposition on June 7. Gibson may attend conference sessions and social events, as well as have access to other networking opportunities.
Also, the SCMS will sponsor Gibson to attend a conference this November located in St. Louis, Missouri. The duties of being a student representative of the IMA require Gibson to attend these meetings. Lastly, Gibson plans to take a part of the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam. This will help Gibson as she works toward becoming a certified public accountant. |
