Balasubramanian named an editor of the British Food Journal

Siva K. Balasubramanian, Henry J. Rehn Professor of Marketing at SIU College of Business, has been named the North American Regional Editor of the British Food Journal.

“I was delighted to hear this news,” said Balasubramanian.  “This journal is really on a high-profile growth trajectory, so I expect this position will bring new visibility and opportunity to showcase my research on food consumption behaviors.”

Balasubramanian also researches new types of marketing messages such as product placement, customer relationship management, new product diffusion, and the impact of strategic business decisions on shareholders' wealth.

“SIU College of Business provides an excellent environment for academic research,” said Balasubramanian who has been teaching at SIU for more than 15 years.

After more than 100 years of publication, the British Food Journal is known worldwide for its broad and unique interdisciplinary coverage of food-related research.  The journal has a strong commitment to publishing the latest food research from around the globe, all of which is reviewed and adjudicated by an international editorial board of leading experts. With its independent analysis and informed insights, it provides a vital communications link between all sectors of this dynamic industry, keeping the reader abreast of topical issues and emerging trends.

Balasubramanian earned a bachelor of science and a master's of business administration degrees from Osmania University in India. He received a doctorate in marketing from The State University of New York at Buffalo.

U.S. News & World Report ranks SIU College of Business among the top 100 public business colleges nationwide.
